Simply Stylist Photo Recap | NJ Brand Photographer

Last weekend seems like a hundred years ago with all that has happened this week. But nevertheless, I wanted to share a photo recap of the Simply Stylist fashion and beauty conference I attended last week. You may ask, what is a photographer doing at a stylist event? I asked myself that same question while stressing about my outfit - LOL. I attended because as a creative entrepreneur, I saw this as an excellent opportunity to learn more about the fashion/beauty blogging industry, meet and network with fellow creatives and just drool over everyone's unique style.

Held in NYC at the Yotel hotel, I attended the event with my stylist gal - pals Privee by Priya and Accessible Style.  Keynote speakers were recent Bachelorette winner turned fashion blogger, Lauren Bushnell and fashion mogul, Vanessa Simmons. The real learning came with the panel discussions : bloggers, entrepreneurs and stylists. Simply Stylist gathered seasoned and smart speakers who shared their experience as well as their strategies.

Some of my favorite speakers were :

Kat Tanita - With Love From Kat

Jacey Duprie - Damsel In Dior

Lilliana Vazquez - The LV Guide

Clair Sulmers - The Bomb Life

Christine Cameron - My Style Pill

Huge highlight for me was meeting and seeing Holly Nichols, a NYC fashion illustrator. She was creating on the spot illustrations of the attendees in their outfits. It was amazing to see her genius unfold effortlessly on paper.

There was also manicures, hair stylists, massages, photo booths and more brand experience stations. Not to mention yummy drinks and apps. Lots of fun photo opps!

There was great energy in the room! People were excited to meet, chat and connect with one another. I have said it before, but I will repeat again...it is SO important to attend LIVE events for this kind of experience.

I am super glad I went. I learned more about the blogging world. I made some new connections. I found new Instagram feeds to follow. I learned more about creating and producing live events. I got out of my NJ comfort zone and had a fun NYC fashion day. I encourage you to look for and attend conferences outside of your home town and even your industry. It's a great biz growth opportunity!
