Monday's are tough! We're still in weekend mode but our list is long with things to do. Let's help each other make the transition a little bit easier. On Mondays, I will share a tip or trick I use to help me ease into the week. Hope it inspires you to take action and jumpstart into your day.
We all have work to do. We have goals to meet. We have tasks to complete. But the world can be distracting, taking us down new roads and making us feel totally lost. So how do you stay on track? How do you keep your eyes on the road to success?
Here's one tip that has helped me stay focused and productive. Start saying NO. When opportunities and asks come your way, don't react quickly with a yes. Take a moment. Pause and think. Ask yourself, "does this job or idea fit in with my big plan?" And if it doesn't, allow yourself to say no.
It sounds simple enough. Yet, it is so difficult for some of us to do. We don't want to seem unkind or too busy or not helpful. But realize when we say yes to too many things, then we are saying no to the big goal that we are trying to achieve. Saying no allows us to stay focused and get more done.
So try it...start saying no to the things that don't matter. Say no to the extraneous. Say no to the distractions. Say no to the time wasters. Say yes to the things that will help you focus on the one thing that you are striving towards. With practice, saying no can feel empowering! And if you still are having a hard time with the firm no, you can always say "not now". Then watch how your time and productivity soar.
