this is the BIG question for me at every photo session....what should we wear? i believe wardrobe and styling are a HUGE component of your images. it is the difference between an everyday snapshot and a well-planned custom photograph. and every photographer will have their own point of view on what looks best. i am definitely not the white shirt and blue jeans type (not that there is anything wrong with this direction - it's just not my vision). i LOVE bold color, texture, pattern, layering, accessories - items that sing personality and fun. especially for children. they seem to sparkle more with a vibrant (yet comfortable) outfit. sometimes my clients are wary. will all that color be too distracting or over the top? i say as long as the tones are coordinating and blend plus the styling is tasteful, age appropriate and figure flattering....we're good. with all upcoming booked sessions, i am now offering a complimentary styling consultation as part of my regular fee. we'll spend time looking and trying things from your closet or even meeting at the mall or boutique to find something new. i adore fashion but am also a huge bargain hunter, so together we can find the perfect outfit for you, your little one or entire family. and i guarantee once you feel good about the wardrobe, everyone will be a bit more relaxed and confident in front of the camera.
here are some websites that i recommend for wardrobe inspiration:
and some local gainesville places to check out (i'm still a new girl here so if there are other places please email me!)...
kids - old navy, tj maxx, gap kids, hey baby! in thornebrooke village, good ole target (better for girls)
moms - down to earth (my favorite) and indigo in Oaks Mall, dahlia in thornebrook village, tj maxx, urban threads
maternity - miracles maternity boutique in thornebrook village, motherhood in Oaks Mall
and it wouldn't be a blog post without some images. so here are more from the workshop i attended...all great examples of fun and colorful styling for kids.
