Brand Photos for Self-Publishing Mentor, Ally Nathaniel | NJ Brand Photographer
Publishing a book is no small feat, and no one knows that more than self-publishing coach Ally Nathaniel. When Ally decided to write her first book, she had to learn the ins and outs of the publishing world on her own through simple trial and error. She pushed through, didn’t give up, and her book was a huge success — we’re talking #1 best-seller kind of success! Her book sold over 40,000 copies in less than 5 months!
Ally went on to write and publish more books, but she kept noticing a trend among other hopeful authors — they were struggling with the same process she had struggled with. She decided that she couldn’t keep the knowledge she gained during her journey to herself, and that she wanted to help others turn their writing dreams into reality.
As a self-publishing coach and mentor, she now inspires and supports authors as they walk the path of writing, publishing, and marketing their books.
Ally was ready to up-level her brand, so she came to MikiFoto + Co to update her images. She wanted to create a powerful visual brand that broke through the noise and represented her unique services and personality.
Why do you do this kind of work? Why is it important to you?
I believe writing a book is the best way to let the world know what you do, what you're passionate about, and to help people. Many people (especially women) get stuck when attempting to publish their book because they don't know where to start and they doubt themselves.
How do you help these clients?
I help them get unstuck. Not only by guiding them as they publish their book, but by helping them grow as human beings. My goal is to inspire them to dig in and get the work done. I like to tell my clients that “Done is the new perfect.” With each success my clients experience, I'm there to celebrate their wins.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Courageous, inspiring, and committed.
What do you love most about your business?
I love working with women who need that extra push and inspiring them to pursue their passions. I also love connecting with others through teaching and speaking opportunities.
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere! I’m inspired by books, of course, by my children and friends, and by nature. I also draw inspiration and encouragement from lectures such as TED talks.
Who are your ideal clients, and what problem do you solve for them?
My ideal client understands the need to invest in herself and is ready to make her life better.
She’s had a dream to become a published author for a long time, but she’s stuck. She needs both practical advice and encouragement to take her great idea and turn it into a published book.
What feelings do your clients have after working with you?
Gratitude and satisfaction.
What brand style do you want to communicate in your images?
My brand is about the people behind the books. It is professional, committed and supportive. It’s all about doing the hard work and the inner work that’s required to make dreams come true.
What specific words would you use to describe your brand?
Warmth, commitment, love and passion.
What three core messages do you stand for and want to share with your audience?
You are worthy, and you can do it!
Ask for help! It will truly make all the difference.
Stop making excuses. Just get the work done.
What do you bring to the table that no one else in the market is doing?
I bring a fun energy to what can be a very long and frustrating process. Publishing a book is overwhelming and even discouraging at times. I want to bring a sense of peace and guidance in the midst of that. I truly care for my clients and want them to find success.
Getting noticed as a coach, no matter the specific industry, can be challenging. Ally’s new images do a great job of highlighting her professionalism while showing how much she cares and connects with her clients. Her personality and energy shine through and captivate her audience!
