Briarcliff Motel - mikifoto, New Jersey Photographer

Winter break is upon us. We are the lucky ones to have a week off in the middle of cold February. My older boys have been dying to go skiing so we took our family of five for a road trip up to Great Barrington, Massachusettes. Only three hours by car, the Berkshires is a breathtaking scenic countryside. We stayed at the charming Briarcliff Motel, a renovated 1960's motel property. They describe themselves as a "homey and hip" contemporary B&B. We loved all the stylish details from the modern linens to the heart imprinted door mats. It was full of personality and family friendly. But the best part, in my opinion, was the breakfast. Hot GOOD coffee, homemade scones and muffins and a cozy fireplace-warmed breakfast nook. The owners, Clare and Richard, were personable and attentive. And they didn't get too upset with us when we lost our room key :/
